Tendertwin is the moniker of the Turkish musician Bilge Nur Yilmaz. Founded in Istanbul, based in Oxford, and peppered in Philadelphia, the nomadic delicacy of Tendertwin combines elements of chamber-folk and avant-pop with a singer-songwriter twist through sweeping strings and suggestive synths.
Reminiscent of the style of late 2000s female troubadours, the heaving lyrics conjure up ghosts of the past. Tendertwin weaves inventive myths of transatlantic devotion on acoustic guitar arpeggi with a subtle Mediterranean dreaminess, and promises haunting yet liberating chaos.
